JPMA Skype Mentoring Session FAQ’s

Q: Do you have to be a JPMA member to participate in a session?

A: Yes, this is an exclusive benefit for JPMA members.

Q: How do I sign up for a JPMA Skype mentoring session?

A: Submit the disclaimer from the website to jpma@jpma.org. You will be given the option of picking from the available time slots. Prior to the session, you will be asked to provide information about you and your company as well as topics you would like to cover during the mentoring session.

Q: How long do the Skype sessions last?

A: A typical session might run 30 to 40 minutes with a maximum of 45 minutes.

Q: How do I get a Skype account?

A: Go to Skype.com and sign up. It’s free! You also need a camera for your computer if it’s not already outfitted with one.

Q: What’s the cost per session?

A: The first session for any JPMA member company is FREE. Subsequent sessions can be arranged directly with Ron Sidman at ron@evolutionarysuccess.com.

Q: Will the session discussion be kept confidential?

A: Any proprietary information discussed will be kept confidential. This provision is included in the disclaimer form you’ll need to sign in advance of your session.

Q: What if I have a quick follow up question after the session?

A: Ron would be happy to answer brief follow up questions by email at rsidman@jpma.org.

Q: What topics is Ron Sidman able to address?

A: Topics related to managing a juvenile products company including designing your company to be successful, strategic planning, finding and retaining the right people, developing new products, sourcing strategy, pricing, gaining distribution, managing retailer and e-tailer relations, managing consumer relations, maximizing profitability by product and account, designing and managing business processes, executive time management, maintaining life balance, and creating your exit strategy.

Q: What topics are better dealt with by someone else?

A: JPMA can suggest experts that can help you with legal issues, regulatory matters, logistical support, trade shows, and product certification. When you call to make your appointment, you’ll be guided in the best direction.

Q: Do I have to be a CEO to participate in a session?

A: No. Any executive in a JPMA member company can participate in a session. 

Q: Can more than one person participate in the session?

A: Yes, although a maximum of 3 people in total is preferred.

Q: Can I use telephone instead of a Skype video call for a session?

A: Yes, although Skype video is very much preferred since communication is greatly enhanced by being able to see each other and it’s free! If you prefer phone, you will need to pay the phone charges.

Q: What information do I need to submit prior to the session?

A: To save time during the session, we would appreciate receiving in advance the completed and signed disclaimer that includes questions about your company, session participants, and goals for the session.. Please send to the JPMA office: jpma@jpma.org.

Q: How do I reschedule a session if I can’t make it at the scheduled time?

A: Contact the JPMA office at 856-638-0420. Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule.
