For three days, more than 2,500 transportation safety professionals met in Long Beach, California to share information, educate on best practices and brainstorm on ways to prevent deaths and injuries on the road. The Lifesavers Conference is the largest gathering of transportation safety officials with topics at the conference addressing everything from distracted driving, public education campaigns, teen driver safety and advanced safety innovations for child passengers.

JPMA’s Managing Director of Government & Public Affairs, Julie Vallese had the opportunity to engage with state and federal regulators as well as meet with JPMA member manufacturers to learn more about the cutting-edge technology and new advances in child restraint systems on the market.

As part of the conference, NHTSA Administrator Mark Rosekind stressed the agencies goal and asked each of the attendees to continue to “drive to zero,” that’s zero deaths on the road.

Next year’s conference is slated to be held at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
