Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association Announces the Programming for Annual Summit

JPMA provides resources to retailers and manufacturers related to policy changes and how they can affect the industry and individual companies


WASHINGTON D.C. – January 26, 2016 – The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) will hold its annual Summit February 2 – 4 at the Westin Washington, D.C. City Center Hotel. The two day event offers extensive programming related to advocacy, legislation and policy that helps retailers and manufacturers understand how policy changes can affect the industry and individual companies. 


Highlighted keynotes and presenters include:


  • Blair Anderson, Deputy Administrator for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), shares the agency’s 2016 priorities and discusses his perspective on how the regulated community and NHTSA can work together to advance child passenger safety on Wednesday, February 3 from 8:30-9:30 AM.
  • The Honorable Elliot Kaye, Chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), addresses his priorities for 2016 and how he anticipates the private sector, specifically the juvenile industry, playing a role in achieving safety goals on Wednesday, February 3 from 12:30 – 2 PM.
  • Danny Marti, U.S. Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator within the Executive Office of the President, introduces insight on how the Office of Intellectual Property works, providing information on how the office collaborates with law enforcement, foreign governments and industry to prevent IP theft, highlighting the best strategies for protection on Wednesday, February 3 from 4 – 5 PM.


Retailers and Manufacturers attend the Summit to:

·         Receive critical information about existing, new and emerging requirements that impact design and production decisions

·         Engage directly with commissioners and staff from regulatory agencies, such as the CPSC and NHTSA

·         Increase awareness about industry trends and actively network and establish lasting connections with fellow industry leaders

·         Be on the inside track about state legislative and regulatory activity and the risks of heightened state action against juvenile products

·         Learn how JPMA is working on these issues every day on behalf of retailers, manufacturers and the industry
