JPMA Names Bureau Veritas Certification Program Administrator

JPMA concludes RFP process for Certification Program Lab Administrator

 

MT. LAUREL, NJ (April 5, 2019) -

JPMA is pleased to announce it has accepted the proposal of Bureau Veritas (BV) as the Laboratory Administrator for the JPMA Certification Program. The decision was made following a rigorous RFP process conducted every three years among leading independent, third-party, global product testing laboratories. BV has been an integral partner of the JPMA Certification Program for decades and will take on the Administrator role until 2022 under the terms of the new appointment.

 

“When evaluating the options for a Laboratory Administrator, it was imperative for JPMA to have every confidence in an administrative partner,” said Kelly Mariotti, Executive Director. “The JPMA Certification Committee not only evaluated the individual proposals based on key areas of expertise, operations, technology, management and program growth; they also explored other factors that would safeguard the data collected for the more than 2,500 products currently certified through the JPMA Certification Program.”

 

JPMA Certification Program participants should expect a seamless transition period to be concluded by early fall 2019. The JPMA Certification Program will continue to offer program services and discounted testing with all three of its current partner labs, Bureau Veritas, Intertek Testing Services and SGS.

 

For more than 40 years, JPMA has helped parents feel confident in choosing safe products for their baby. JPMA Certification is voluntary, and based on adherence to ASTM standards, federal and state laws, and some retail requirements. As a JPMA Certification Program participant, manufacturers benefit from a turnkey testing solution that includes significantly discounted testing fees, unique marketing opportunities, and use of the JPMA Certification Seal on products and packaging.
