From Prototype To Launch: 5 Tips To Get Your Product Crowdfunded

Crowdfunding is a source for entrepreneurs to fund and launch new products. In 2015, entrepreneurs raised over $34 billion globally through crowdfunding to bring their products to market.


These individuals may or may not have had business backgrounds or known how to launch new products. But they figured out whether crowdfunding was a fit for them and how to do it right.

If you’re looking to raise funds and get your product into real customers hands, you should consider crowdfunding. It takes a lot of work to be successful, but if your product is a fit, it can be a viable way to get it launched.


Here are 5 tips to help determine if your product is a fit for crowdfunding:

  1. Idea: You have a product idea that doesn't already exist and solves a problem for many people.
  2.  Prototype: You have a working prototype that can be demoed and looks good when filmed.
  3. Crowd: You have a group of people who have shown interest in your product and want to see you/your product succeed.
  4. Marketing: You have expertise in online marketing or can surround yourself with people who do.
  5. Determination: You have the passion to see your product through to launch and to figure out how do it right.

If you do it right, the potential to get crowdfunded is huge with the largest grossing products raising millions of dollars by tens of thousands of backers who then become your customer base.
