The juvenile products industry is full of dynamic, hard-working women with a passion for innovation and professional and personal growth. Through the years, JPMA has seen numerous female leaders affecting change throughout the juvenile products industry, but one in particular comes to mind: JPMA’s longtime volunteer leader Luanne Whiting-Lager.
Luanne is Co-Owner, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Regal Lager, a distributor of baby and children's products located outside of Atlanta. Luanne has been involved with JPMA for more than 20 years. She formerly served as Chair for the JPMA board, was one of the founders of JPMA’s special interest group, JP WOMEN, and has served on various task groups and committees throughout the years.
But what makes Luanne so special is her down-to-earth personality and appreciation for her past, present and future. When asked what her biggest professional accomplishment is, she humbly responded, “That I am still here.” Luanne recognizes all of the change this industry and her business has experienced over the years and understands what it takes to be successful.
So, how does Luanne make it all work? She believes in herself. “If you have a passion, then go for it,” Luanne commented. “My advice to anyone (woman or man) in this industry is ‘no regrets,’” she continued. “You have to be flexible and not afraid to take chances.”
“Luanne continues to be one of JPMA’s biggest advocates,” said Mike Dwyer, JPMA President. “Whether it’s jumping on a call to brainstorm a strategic issue or running a morning round table session targeted at helping our members improve their businesses, Luanne never shies away from helping out and she is a true role model for our industry.”
Luanne is being honored June 7, 2016 at the 10th Annual K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers Women of Inspiration Luncheon. Help JPMA and K.I.D.S. celebrate Luanne and other Women of Inspiration. “Juvenile products, such as cribs, strollers, car seats and many other items, are necessary for our efforts to help families and children in need,” said K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers President and CEO Lisa Gurwitch. “We are thrilled to be honoring Luanne Whiting-Lager at our Women of Inspiration Luncheon. Regal Lager is a generous supporter of K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers and Luanne is a long-time leader in the industry. We are looking forward to highlighting Luanne’s accomplishments and engaging the juvenile product community’s support for her.”
“I am very honored to be a part of K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers,” said Luanne. “K.I.D.S. has been a long-standing charity of choice for JPMA and Regal Lager and I am thankful for the opportunity to support their mission.”
