Small Business Resources
Many of our members are small businesses, who joined JPMA as Start-Up companies and continue to be involved with the Association for its many resources. Over the 50 years of JPMA history, we have grown from 29 companies to more than 250. Small businesses remain one of JPMA's specialties, and we have created a resource center just for you, to guide you through the steps to help your company succeed.

Associate Members are interested in doing business with JPMA manufacturers, and they provide a variety of resources to help you do business better. You can learn more about this small business resource through the Associate Member Services page.
JPMA monitors federal and state regulations that impact the juvenile and baby products industry. Children's products are regulated by numerous federal government agencies including the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
In addition to Federal and State regulations, the juvenile and baby products industry is also subject to voluntary standards and retailer requirements. In 2012, JPMA added all these requirements on top of the existing ASTM Standards to enhance the JPMA Certification Program. For the first time in its history, JPMA expanded the scope of it's program providing a turnkey solution for participants to fulfill all necessary requirements for juvenile and baby products sold in the United States. Learn more about the ASTM Standards.
Formerly the American Society for Testing and Materials, ASTM is a highly regarded non-profit organization that publishes standards for materials, products, systems and services. JPMA encourages all members to join ASTM and engage in the consensus-based standard setting process. Juvenile product-related subcommittee meetings are typically held quarterly at ASTM headquarters in West Conshohocken, PA and interim task group calls take place via teleconference. Joining ASTM offers JPMA members a host of benefits. Consider joining ASTM today!
JPMA Certification Program - JPMA works with consumers, manufacturers, representatives from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, and ASTM International to develop standards for juvenile and baby products. Today, there are more than 2,000 products certified in 24 categories. Parents can look for the JPMA Certification seal and be confident the juvenile products they purchase are designed and built with safety in mind.
Standards Consultant - David E. Campbell & Associates, Inc. provides services, knowledge and talent in the role of consultant for members. This firm can serve members and manufacturers in responding to questions regarding the safety of juvenile products and interpretation of requirements in both CPSC regulations and ASTM standards. They also help with product labeling, instruction manuals, carton layouts and much more.
